There IS “other” news..
Although it is a great tragedy that some famous people died this month, I think we are going overboard with the media coverage. Steve McNair was a great football player and should be recognized for his accomplishments. Michael Jackson was the best at what he did and no one disputes that. The part that doesn’t sit well with me is how much coverage they are getting. All channels on TV have been going over this repeatedly until it appears as if nothing else is going on anywhere that is news worthy. You have to listen and look between the lines to find the stories that IMO should be our focus. Let the people who want to mourn the fallen “stars” do so but don’t force feed the rest of us.
- Lance Armstrong is making a strong run and is only a split second behind the leader trying to win his 8th Tour de France!
- Roger Federer has won Wimbledon 6 times for a record breaking 15 Grand Slam victories!
- The G8 Summit is underway in Italy where leaders are trying to make the world a better place environmentally and ecologically not to mention more secure!
- There are riots in China that have already killed over 150 people!
- Iran, despite warnings, has indicated they are still moving forward with nuclear testing!
- There has been a rise of violence in Iraq since turning over security to the Iraqis.
- NASDAQ is up!
- Crude oil is on the rise as speculators bet on futures again! The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is looking into stronger control and tighter regulations.
- Nissan is making a 100% Electric vehicle that will get 100 miles per charge and be cheap enough, factoring in the $7500 government tax credit, to actually buy!
The list goes on and on! There are other things we could at least be sharing the media time with. It shouldn’t ALL be about a pedophile and a Cheater no matter how great they did their job!
