Republican contrast

I have never understood the Republican party with respect to governance. One the business side of things, the Republican party believes government should stay out and let the free market rule it self. They believe that businesses and consumers can determine on their own what is right, wrong, good or bad.

On the other hand, in the religious conversation, Republicans want to dictate and govern over every little aspect of faith and beliefs. They do not feel that people or organizations can determine on their own what is right, wrong, good or bad.

Hmmm?

  1. WHATS UP!! Its not the whole party, just like not all democrats are for abortion or taxing us to death or stripping out God from everything on the planet :) Its just the ones that get noticed. The GOP has no direction and hasn’t for some time, so us conservatives are stuck with what was really a Grand Ole Party at one time but is now just another group not looking for us closer to the middle.

Hard to believe this was the party of Lincoln.

  2. I agree that is not ALL republicans. Just the ones that make the news. I actually believe in many of the Republican views. Smaller Government is one major view. It’s just the Extreme and VOCAL Christian Right that ruins the party in my eyes. I can make my own mind up about religion and prayer. I don’t want some politician pushing his moral and religious views on me or the American people. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof….”.

  3. BTW…I am no Democrat by any stretch either! Both parties have missed the path of our forefathers by a LONG shot!
